Is too much Internet surfing good for your child's creativity? I don't think so!
I’m worried about my daughter who relies too much on the Internet to find relevant information and answers to most of her school assignments.
When I was still in school, our teachers used to forbid us from using guidebooks. We were always curious to know more… We had to use our brain and creativity to complete our assignments. But today our children can get all the information they need within a couple of minutes… For instance, when my daughter had to compile a list of NGOs who were doing great work for her school assignment, it was just a matter of a few clicks as she just needed to log on to Jaago Re! which, to my surprise, has an impressive database for people who want to make a difference.
There is no doubt that such websites are extremely useful. However, it’s about time we started measuring the impact of excessive and easy information on the creativity of our children.
